ABOUT THIS EVENT

This program is part of the Red Tulip Festival, the only annual Turkish film festival in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Eindhoven, showcasing the best contemporary Turkish cinema. The Eindhoven edition is organized by Turkish Professionals Network Eindhoven (TPN-E). NEW DAWN FADES is an intimate and unsettling portrait of Akın, a man slowly slipping through a system meant to protect him. For years, he has been in and out of hospitals, grappling with the continual cycle of treatment and institutional indifference. His world shrinks as the system tightens around him, leaving him suspended between frustration and numbness. As Akın loses touch with his true self, his mind begins to fracture, drifting into an alternate reality where memory, trauma, and imagination collide. The film blurs the lines between inner turmoil and external control, revealing the psychological cost of being treated as a case rather than a human. With raw emotional force and atmospheric storytelling, NEW DAWN FADES offers a haunting exploration of identity, mental health, and the delicate balance between survival and surrender.
