Cinemini: Rita & Krokodil - A Magical Film Experience for Kids

Children aged 2 to 6 can enjoy their first cinema visit in our cozy film hall. On Sunday mornings, little ones experience Taartrovers Cinemini, an enchanting program where they watch films and play in a stunning landscape of light. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we present beautiful, heartwarming, exciting, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films tailored for toddlers and preschoolers. Following the film, attendees will engage in play within a light landscape filled with various installations, allowing them to discover how light creates stories. They will explore shape, projection, light, shadow, narratives, movement, and color. How do shadows form? Where do images come from? How do shapes get bigger or smaller, and how do they vanish? Adults may perceive shadows as a given; for children, they might well be a magician transforming adults into towering giants. **PROGRAM** With Krokodil around, there’s always something exciting to do. Rita and her always-hungry friend, Krokodil, return to embark on even more adventures. Together, they go to the cinema, explore outer space, and even visit the swimming pool. **RITA & KROKODIL** Directed by Siri Melchior, 2018, Denmark, 25 minutes. Every day is a grand, colorful adventure for Rita. With her big, always-hungry friend Krokodil nearby, she’s never bored. Rita is small yet determined: Krokodil is real (in the bathtub!), even if others can’t see him. Together, they play in grandma’s garden or embark on a discovery journey under the carpet.
