ABOUT THIS EVENT

Kakek, Opa & Ik is a mesmerizing family performance filled with puppetry, live music, and hidden tales about ancestry, memories, and healing. The story follows Novi, a young girl who feels a storm brewing inside her. Seeking solace in the attic, she encounters mysterious figures that lead her into old photo albums. Through these past narratives, Novi embarks on a magical journey unveiling her family's hidden stories and the colonial history shared between the Netherlands and Indonesia. This visually rich performance speaks to themes of heritage, emotion, and understanding as it connects generations through storytelling. Note: Children require their own ticket. This show features a 'Pay What You Want' pricing model to make theater accessible to everyone, particularly for family and youth performances.
