An Enchanting Cinema Experience for Kids

Children aged 2 to 6 will enjoy their first cinema visit in our cozy screening room. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers experience Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program that combines film viewing with playful interactions in a stunning light landscape. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we showcase beautiful, charming, exciting, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers. After the films, visitors will engage in play within a light landscape composed of various installations that allow children to explore how light can create stories. They will investigate shape, projection, light, shadow, stories, movement, and color. How do shadows form? Where do images come from? How do shapes grow or shrink, and how do they disappear? For adults, shadows are common; for children, they can seem like magic that transforms adults into towering giants. **Program Highlights** What do you do at night? When darkness falls and it seems the whole world is asleep, there's still so much happening! The sun prepares for its next rise, bats awaken and go on adventures, the moon is briefly missing, and a stuffed animal thief is on the prowl. Stay awake and take a peek into the night! **Featured Short Films:** - **The Tiny Prince** (Zoía Trofimovaz, 2003, France, 7 mins): A little boy attempts to clean the sun as it rises covered in spots. - **Luce and the Rock** (Elena Walf, 2015, Germany, 4 mins): As night falls on the farm, a little bat wakes up, eager for companionship. - **Sooner or Later** (Jadwiga Kowalska, 2007, Switzerland, 5 mins): A chance encounter brings together a squirrel and a bat, starting a journey of friendship. - **Where is My Moon?** (Mi-young Baek, 2017, South Korea, 6 mins): A child who can't sleep meets a fish who's just waking up, leading them on an adventure to find the missing moon. - **We Are Not Afraid** (Virgine Costa, 2019, France, 4 mins): The stuffed animals in an orphanage are stolen at night.
