De Acht: Film with Live Music

On Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2, 2025, something special will happen at Natlab, Eindhoven! Musicians from Stratums Muziekkorps St. Cecilia will perform live music for the acclaimed documentary 'De Acht'. This documentary showcases the volunteers from the Chaam cycling event and has attracted thousands of viewers to theaters and community centers. Now, it returns with specially composed live music by Jan Bosveld, bringing the film to life! Join us for the Eindhoven premiere of a unique project: docs in concert — where documentaries are paired with harmony orchestras and composers. This fusion creates a breathtaking experience, combining the magic of live music with the beauty of documentaries. Initiator Frank van Osch shares, “When my documentary 'Het verdriet van carnaval' premiered with live music by a harmony orchestra, it was an overwhelming experience. Now, we're expanding this to many more films, composers, and Brabant orchestras.” Before the intermission, St. Cecilia will perform a selection of musical pieces and accompany Frank van Osch, who is not only a filmmaker and the initiative behind docs in concert, but also a singer-songwriter. His favorite cycling songs will be specially arranged for the harmony orchestra for this occasion!
