Explore the beauty of cinematic flaws with Kevin Toma!

OVER DIT EVENEMENT

No matter how much time and attention films receive, sometimes a microphone unexpectedly appears on screen, or a shot seems blurrier than intended. Such blunders can disturb our viewing experience, yet they honestly testify to the human effort behind every film. This is the fourth evening of the course 'The Style of Film', which consists of four sessions. This final meeting celebrates the charming imperfections of films: their scratches and stains, wobbly frames, editing mistakes, and clumsy actors. The result? Movies become even more beautiful once you notice the shadow of the cameraman. CINEMA STYLE: How does the style of a film emerge? Film journalist Kevin Toma (De Volkskrant) unravels this through surprising clips from classics and contemporary cinema during four evenings. A playful yet deep dive into film for anyone who loves watching movies and wants to understand better why they work. SESSION 1 | 04-Nov SESSION 2 | 18-Nov SESSION 3 | 02-Dec ABOUT KEVIN TOMA: Kevin Toma (Sittard, 1974) studied film science in Nijmegen.
