PIFF: Interactive Workshop - Animation Magic

Have you ever wondered how animations are created? In this interactive workshop, animator Saber Aidarus, the creative mind behind @SaberOH! and a TikTok sensation, will take you behind the scenes and guide you step-by-step through the animation process! Using a digital tablet and animation software, Saber will demonstrate how a simple idea evolves into a full-fledged story, how storyboards guide the action, and how characters are drawn, colored, and animated with movement and lip-syncing. Along the way, you will analyze existing animations to discover how characters move, act, and tell their stories in an engaging and easy-to-follow manner. Saber Aidarus is a Somali creative based in the Netherlands, with a rich background in social media advertising. He has worked with clients like AFCON, Meta, JBL, and Albert Heijn. He is also a director, speaker, comedian, voice actor, and animator! Currently, he is working on the cartoon “SaberOH!”, creating original animations that he writes, draws, and voices himself, drawing inspiration from childhood cartoons, personal experiences, and his Somali heritage.
