Animation Magic: Interactive Workshop with Saber Aidarus

Have you ever wondered how animations are made? In this interactive workshop, animator Saber Aidarus, creator of @SaberOH! and known from TikTok, will take you behind the scenes and guide you step by step as you create animations together! Using a digital tablet and animation software, Saber Aidarus demonstrates how a simple idea can evolve into a story, how a storyboard guides the action, and how characters are sketched, colored, and brought to life with movement and lip-sync. Along the way, you'll also explore existing animations to dissect how characters move, act, and tell their stories in a fun and easy-to-follow manner. Saber Aidarus is a Somali creative from the Netherlands with experience in social media advertising. He has worked with clients such as AFCON, Meta, JBL, and Albert Heijn. He is also a director, speaker, comedian, voice actor, and animator! Currently, Saber is working on the cartoon “SaberOH!” for which he creates original animation sketches that he writes, draws, and voices himself. His inspiration comes from the cartoons of his youth, his life experiences, and his Somali roots. This workshop has been made possible in collaboration with Cinekid.
