ABOUT THIS EVENT
The planned underground bus station at Eindhoven Central is taking shape! The municipality, ProRail, NS, the province of North Brabant, and the national government have selected a preferred variant. We will discuss this development and the entire area to the north of the station on Monday, April 13, with Frank Werner (KCAP) and Jeroen van Schooten (Team V), led by Erna van Holland. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience the design in 3D.
The chosen design includes a terminal with five bus tunnels connecting to John F. Kennedylaan, Veldmaarschalk Montgomerylaan, Vestdijktunnel, and Boschdijktunnel. The fifth tunnel leads to Fellenoord, situated between the intersections with Boschdijk and Boschdijktunnel. This setup allows buses to access the underground station directly, minimizing intersections. The bus station will feature three island platforms with a total of 34 stops for each bus line. During peak times, about 200 buses per hour can operate. Over 900 million euros has been allocated for the complete station plan as part of the Brainport and Beethoven deal. Additionally, a two-level bike parking facility will be established on Vestdijk, allowing for about 13,000 bicycles alongside the existing storage on the south side of the station. A new station hall will also be constructed, directly connected to the bus station. Please note this event will be held in Dutch.
