He considers preserving and sharing these stories as his calling. Using slides, Akkerman connects the past with the present, reflecting on recent events, such as the jewel heist at the Louvre. MARTIJN AKKERMAN (1952) is a jewelry historian who studied at the vocational school in Schoonhoven and has worked with jeweler Fabery de Jonge and Amsterdam auction house Mak van Waay. He serves as an expert for jewelry at various art and antique fairs, including TEFAF and has been sharing the stories behind exceptional jewelry for years on 'Tussen Kunst en Kitsch' and 'Blauw Bloed'.
